The City of Ghent has an interactive website providing all core statistical figures of the city. It’s called ”Gent in Cijfers” (Ghent in Figures). The user can generate maps and statistics on the city, city areas and statistical sectors. See: http://www.gent.be/gentincijfers/.
www.mijndigitaalideevoorgent.be is a crowdsourcing platform (supported by IBBT, Digipolis and the City of Ghent), launched early April 2011 as the first stage of the efforts on smart engagement. Ghent citizens can upload their ’wild’ ideas for future Ghent applications, vote for and comment on the ideas of others. These wild ideas will be evaluated by a panel of experts that will make a selection of 10 possible (feasible) Ghent applications. After that, Ghent citizens will be a able to vote again on the selected ideas. This way, a shortlist of 3 to 5 popular and feasible (but still innovative) application ideas will be reviewed again by experts and eventually, one idea will be developed as a Ghent application.
The website of the Ghent Climate Alliance gives an overview of the efforts and initiatives of the City of Ghent and all possible stakeholders and citizens on fighting climate change. See: http://www.gentsklimaatverbond.be/.
